Amber Hudgins is the Assistant Program Director of Staffing at Havenwood Academy, where she oversees staff development and training through a trauma-informed lens. With personal experience in residential treatment, Amber brings a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and authenticity to her work. She is passionate about supporting both clients and staff, believing that healthy, supported teams create the best outcomes for healing. Amber is also actively involved in community service and mentoring, and she continues to use the tools she’s learned to foster growth, resilience, and connection both inside and outside of Havenwood.

Andrea Morgan is the Assistant Academic Director at Havenwood Academy, where she oversees the daily operations of the school and leads a team of dedicated educators. With a background in both public education and residential treatment, Andrea brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for individualized, trauma-informed teaching. Her commitment to continuous improvement and holistic student development has been central to Havenwood’s success in supporting young people through their recovery journey.

Blaine Hofeling is the Founder and General Counsel of Havenwood Academy and the HOPE Group, which operates multiple behavioral health programs including Engage Treatment, Emerge Treatment, and Mental Health Matchmakers. A graduate of the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, Blaine began his career in law—first as a judicial clerk and later running one of Southern Utah’s leading law firms—before founding Havenwood in 2014.

Driven by both personal experiences with childhood adversity and a passion for creating lasting impact, Blaine has spent the last decade building Havenwood into a nationally respected program specializing in trauma and attachment. He continues to provide legal and strategic oversight while advocating for high-quality care for vulnerable youth.

Charity Lynch is a therapist at Havenwood Academy whose personal journey with childhood trauma and parenting a struggling teen shaped her passion for supporting adolescents and families. Specializing in somatic therapy and brainspotting, Charity brings a grounded, compassionate, and deeply trauma-informed approach to her work. She’s known for being “the calm in the storm,” helping students understand their emotions, build coping skills, and reconnect with a sense of safety and possibility. From equine-assisted sessions to heartfelt family work, Charity plays a pivotal role in helping students step into healthier, hope-filled futures.

Charlie Falatea is the Partner and Executive Director at Havenwood SLC, where he leads programs designed to help teens overcome mental health challenges through relationship-based care and a structured, trauma-informed approach. With over two decades of experience coaching high school football and working in residential treatment, Charlie brings a unique perspective on leadership, culture-building, and youth development. Known for his “trust in, trust out” philosophy, he’s passionate about empowering both youth and staff to achieve lasting transformation.

David Rees is a passionate science teacher with over 13 years of experience, including three years teaching in trauma-informed treatment settings. He inspires students to discover wonder in STEM and develop both academically and personally. An amateur astronomer and devoted mentor, David believes education can be a powerful catalyst for growth and healing.

Jake Clayton is the Executive Director at Havenwood Academy, a leading residential treatment center specializing in trauma-informed care for adolescents. With more than a decade of experience in adolescent behavioral health, including community-based care, academic programs, and therapeutic residential treatment, Jake brings a broad, well-rounded perspective on how to support lasting healing and growth in youth. 

He is known for building robust systems and structures - from admissions processes that foster dignity and welcome to daily staff training, feedback loops, and data-driven programming - all aimed at creating safe, supportive, and transformative environments.

Janie Sabin is the Human Resources Director at Havenwood Academy, where she has served for over 11 years. With a background in criminal justice and extensive experience as a paralegal, Janie blends legal expertise with people-first leadership. She oversees HR and licensing for over 200 employees, fostering a culture of growth, transparency, and resilience. Known for her empathetic approach and commitment to Havenwood’s mission of providing trauma treatment for children who wouldn’t otherwise receive care, Janie is a cornerstone of the Havenwood community and a passionate advocate for staff and students alike.

Julien Knight is an English teacher at Havenwood Academy, helping students build vocabulary, improve reading retention, and sharpen critical thinking skills. Known for his humor, engaging lessons, and strong relationships with students, Julien is passionate about creating a positive, impactful learning environment. He holds a BS in English from Avila University and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Western Governors University. Outside the classroom, he enjoys cooking, watching sports, and hiking with his dog, Benjamin.

Kristi Peterson – Clinical Director, Havenwood Academy
Kristi Peterson is the Clinical Director at Havenwood Academy, where she brings over 20 years of experience in residential treatment. Known for her expertise in trauma-informed care, attachment work, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Kristi has dedicated her career to helping adolescents move from crisis to capability. She is passionate about building strong clinical teams, integrating evidence-based modalities like EMDR and neurofeedback, and ensuring that every student has access to the highest quality of care.

Kymber Hudgins is a Neurofeedback Technician at Havenwood Academy, where she supports trauma-impacted youth through brain-based regulation and relational care. Beginning her career at Havenwood as a Youth Mentor, Kymber progressed into Paraeducation before stepping into her current role. Drawing from personal experience in treatment and a deep passion for healing, she is committed to creating safe, calming spaces where students feel seen, supported, and empowered on their journey toward growth.

Megan is a Licensed Practical Nurse at Havenwood Academy with a passion for weaving mental health support into holistic, compassionate care. Raised in a Nevada foster home that specialized in teenage girls, Megan’s early life planted the seeds for her career in psychiatric nursing. After earning a Bachelor’s in Business, she followed her true calling into nursing and moved to Cedar City in 2022, captivated by southern Utah’s red-rock beauty. When she’s not caring for Havenwood’s students, you’ll find Megan hiking desert trails, hunting for the next great restaurant, or making memories with her husband and two little girls.

Nathan Hofeling serves as the Director of Admissions and Business Development at Havenwood Academy in Cedar City, Utah. With over a decade of experience, Nathan leads with empathy, innovation, and a commitment to creating a safe and personalized admissions process for families in crisis. His work focuses on trauma-informed care, family engagement, and building systems that promote healing from the very first contact.

Riley Anguiano is a therapist at Havenwood Academy, where she supports students and families through trauma-informed treatment, individualized sessions, and collaborative clinical care. Passionate about wellness and personal growth, Riley brings a balanced, intentional approach to her work—both inside and outside the therapy room. She is currently pursuing full licensure and is an integral part of the evolving clinical team in Cedar City.

Tana Frey is the Assistant Clinical Director and Therapist at Havenwood Academy, bringing over 21 years of experience in adolescent treatment. Her background spans wilderness therapy, residential treatment, and therapeutic boarding schools, with a focus on trauma-informed care, student safety, and collaborative treatment approaches. Tana is passionate about helping youth thrive while supporting staff growth and well-being in the field of adolescent therapy.
